He was born in Adıyaman in 1962. He started painting at a young age. After graduating from high school, Nihat Taşkıran settled in Istanbul in 1984. Between 1990 and 2000, he participated in various art events in Bodrum and Marmaris with his paintings. He created his unique style using the spatula technique.

He tries to keep our values that have faded away over time alive in his paintings by transferring the unspoiled nature, cities, fishermen’s shelters, streets and two-three-storey houses with bay windows and eaves of the Istanbul Aegean and Mediterranean regions to canvas. His paintings are included in many collections at home and abroad. He still continues his painting works in Bakırköy, Istanbul.
