Minister Ersoy received information about the exhibition from Siret Uyanık, the curator of the exhibition at the Mustafa Ayaz Foundation Plastic Arts Museum.
On the other hand, Ersoy conveyed his condolences to Nilay Ayaz, Mustafa Ayaz's daughter, on the death of her father on September 17.
Later, Minister Ersoy also visited the "Matraki: An Ottoman Star" and "Hagia Sophia Photographs" exhibitions by İzzet Keribar and Mehmet Özçay opened at the Presidential National Library within the scope of the Ankara Culture Road Festival.
There are 80 paintings from the family collection
The curator of the Passionate Two Hearts Exhibition, Siret Uyanık, told AA correspondent that the exhibition consists of 80 works by Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu and Eren Eyüboğlu.
Uyanık said that in addition to very special works taken from the Eyüboğlu family collection, the exhibition also includes documents, letters, medals, diplomas and archive documents belonging to the artists.
Uyanık, who stated that they prepared the exhibition with Ömer Faruk Şerifoğlu and that the exhibition was completed under the coordination of Ayla and Nilay Ayaz, the daughters of the late painter Mustafa Ayaz, continued his words as follows:
"We lost the founder of the museum, the doyen painter Mustafa Ayaz, two days before the exhibition we started planning months ago. We had to commemorate the passionate heart Mustafa Ayaz in the exhibition we will open on the 49th death anniversary of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, who devoted his life to Turkish painting. They will live on with their works. We, people devoted to art, will continue to walk in the light of art they illuminate."
Uyanık stated that in the exhibition where the paintings are arranged chronologically, visitors will be able to see many masterpieces of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, especially "Karagöz'ün Gemisi" and "Mürşid'in Evi".
Uyanık, who stated that the artist's painting "Fruits", which won an award at the Sao Paulo Biennial, the first biennial Turkey participated in abroad in 1957, is also in the exhibition, said, "A large portion of the works in the exhibition consist of self-portraits and Anatolian motifs. It will be free of charge until September 29 as part of the Culture Road. Afterwards, those who wish will be able to visit for a fee until November 17."
"Very valuable artists who were torn from the heart of the Black Sea"
Mustafa Ayaz's daughter Nilay Ayaz also stated that she learned about the opening of the Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu exhibition while her father was receiving treatment in the hospital and that she was quite excited.
Ayaz said, "Both my father Mustafa Ayaz and Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu are very valuable artists who were torn from the heart of the Black Sea. Both of them are very valuable people who have dedicated themselves to their art and their country."
Emphasizing that his father's will was "for the museum to live on," Ayaz said, "We will try to keep his name alive forever with the events we will organize at the museum as much as we can. My father founded the Mustafa Ayaz Museum to pay his debt to Atatürk. What he wanted from art lovers was for the museum to be promoted more."
