İzmit Municipality Culture and Social Affairs Directorate continues to bring art together with the city. Atilla Ağırbaş’s personal painting exhibition titled ‘From Araf to Yaşama’ opened at Cumhuriyet Art Gallery. İzmit Municipality Council Member Erdem Arcan, İzmit Municipality Press Advisor Cem Şakoğlu and many art lovers attended the opening program of the exhibition, which will be open until October 18. Atilla Ağırbaş’s personal painting exhibition titled ‘From Araf to Yaşama’ includes 26 large-scale oil and acrylic paintings.
AĞIRBAŞ: I AM HONORED’
Speaking at the exhibition opening, Atilla Ağırbaş said, ‘’It is a great honor to be with you again in my own city after 30 years. Today, you see the results of the ongoing work that started in 2019. The meaning of the composition and the works is actually the story of overcoming the difficulties experienced during the pandemic and those who hold on to a new life again. This is important to me. I am very proud and honored to share my 6th personal exhibition with you,” he said.
ARCAN: IT HAS A VERY BEAUTIFUL STORY
İzmit Municipality Council Member Erdem Arcan said, “İzmit is hosting a very beautiful exhibition again. Our exhibition is a personal exhibition called ‘From Araftan Yaşama’. The exhibition has a very beautiful story. We will all embark on an impressive journey together. We would like to thank Atilla Bey and Ece Hanım for bringing us together with these valuable works. We would like to thank them for their contributions to the breathing of art.”
THERE ARE 26 OIL PAINTINGS AND ACRYLIC PAINTINGS
The theme of the exhibition is the story of those who hold on to life again after the pandemic period. The exhibition includes 26 oil and acrylic paintings produced between 2019-2023. The exhibition also includes writings and books that Ece Özbaş attributed to the works. The use of brush and spatula composition techniques on top of each other in the works, which feature surreal compositions, draws attention.
