Painter Anita Taylor's first solo exhibition 'Moonbaker' was presented to art lovers in Beşiktaş Akaretler.

Painter Anita Taylor met with art lovers in Beşiktaş Akaretler with her first solo exhibition 'Moonbaker' in Turkey. The exhibition, which will continue until December 31, 2024, includes approximately 30 works, mainly the artist's two main series 'A Mon Seul Désir' (My Only Desire) and 'Moonbaker'. The exhibition is curated by Fırat Arapoğlu.

Anita Taylor brings together female figures and animals in her imaginary world in her products, and addresses themes that change the pores between structural structures and reality and fiction. The artist said, "Women are individuals as strong representations. It was important for me to show women as the main actors in all my works. My works contain many meanings and the full engagement usually occurs much later,” he said, expressing his treatment of his art.

DETAILS AND TECHNIQUES STANDING OUT IN THE WORKS
One of the focal points of the exhibition is the artist’s large workshop works created with charcoal techniques. Taylor offers a sensory experience by dealing with themes such as reality, memory and forgetting with these works. The striking pieces in the exhibition include the works titled ‘Glance’ and ‘Vestiges’. In this selection, Taylor takes inspiration from baroque art, romantic literature and light-shadow plays, addressing the themes of concealment and revelation.

STATEMENTS FROM CURATOR FIRAT ARAPOĞLU
Exhibition curator Fırat Arapoğlu stated that he had previously worked with Taylor on an international project and said the following:
“Anita Taylor is an internationally recognized artist. Her works, especially in terms of patterns, attract great interest. The ‘Moonbaker’ series metaphorically addresses themes such as night, covering and hiding. This exhibition offers a selection that reminds us of the details of the pattern.”

Actress Pervin Bağdat, who visited the exhibition, said that she especially liked the works made by Anita Taylor using coal technology and said, “Her huge paintings and techniques support me a lot.” Designer Ceylin Aşlak expressed her satisfaction with the exhibition by saying, “Taylor’s work completely reflects the soul of an artist. I can feel the emotion experienced while looking at the works.”
