Galeri Soyut in Ankara is hosting artist Emine Bıyıklı’s new solo exhibition. The exhibition titled “Deformation” will meet art lovers between January 10 and January 29, 2025.
Emine Bıyıklı, known for her abstract figurative works, offers an innovative visual experience to the audience by bringing together different techniques and materials in her “Deformation” exhibition. In her works produced with mixed techniques on canvas, striking elements such as the artist’s “fantastic faces” and “expressionless” forms stand out. Bıyıklı reflects traces of empathy, observation and inner feelings in her works, allowing the audience to discover their own world of meaning.
An Artistic Journey from İzmir to Ankara
Born in İzmir, Bıyıklı started her art career in 2000 at İzmir Güzelyalı Cultural Center and continues her work in her studio in Göztepe, İzmir. The artist defines the canvas as an “unvisited area” and shapes his works with traces from life.
Having previously held exhibitions at important venues such as the Turgut Pura Foundation Art Gallery (2022), Ege University MÖTBE Cultural Center (2014), İzmir State Painting and Sculpture Museum (2012) and the Turkish American Association (2013), Bıyıklı’s works are included in many private collections.
