İş Sanat Kibele Art Gallery continues to host leading figures in Turkish plastic arts. The retrospective exhibition of sculptor and academic Prof. Rahmi Aksungur will meet art lovers in April
Rahmi Aksungur is known for his works that push the boundaries of traditional sculpture and adopt an innovative approach. In his works produced with materials such as bronze, wood and stone, he particularly uses the grid form as both a structural tool and a form of artistic expression. The artist draws inspiration from everyday objects, living beings and mythological elements based on the relationship between space, environment and scale. Aksungur, who has developed a language specific to modern sculpture, serves as a bridge between the past and the future.
The exhibition includes works produced by Rahmi Aksungur in various periods of his artistic life, as well as more than 70 sculptures, examples from his sketchbooks and sculpture drawings borrowed from important institutions and various collectors in Türkiye. The comprehensive catalogue prepared simultaneously with the exhibition and written by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fırat Arapoğlu is presented to art lovers under the label of Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları.
The Retrospective exhibition of Rahmi Aksungur, who made significant contributions to modernist art by blending the traditions of the past with the possibilities of the future in his works, can be visited free of charge every day between 09:00-19:00 at İş Sanat Kibele Art Gallery in Levent until July 14.
