Artist Sarkis (Zabunyan) will tell the story of the work he produced for Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, who was killed on January 19, 2007, to the audience and listeners at an event on July 3.
In the conversation that will take place at 23.5 Hrant Dink Memory Site in Istanbul, Sarkis will talk about a never-before-seen stained glass window that carries the tragic traces of Dink's murder to 2024.
Sarkis will share with the audience, accompanied by visuals, how this work is related to the works of the giant names of the Renaissance, Mantegna and Grünewald, and a film by the famous director Pier Paolo Pasolini.
Designing the installation "Salt and Light" for the 23.5 Hrant Dink Memory Site, Sarkis produced this work, which is based on the metaphor of "Creating diamonds from pain" and allows feeling, contemplation and remembering, as a permanent part of the space. Salt and Light is located on the balcony at the back of Hrant Dink's study.
