Who is Aydın Biçen (1987 Batman-) He was born in Batman in 1987, the youngest member of a family of 11 children. He completed his primary and secondary education in Batman. The deep passion for art he felt since his childhood led him to graduate from Dicle University, Department of Art Teaching in 2012 and begin his artistic journey. After his graduation, he started teaching, but continued his artistic production without interruption during this period. He created an in-depth knowledge of his art with his thesis titled “An Assessment on the Subject of War Victim Children in Painting”, which he completed in 2023. This work has become an important part of his artistic journey. His works strikingly present the traumas and hopeful stories of war victim children. His works, which were seen by a wide audience in the exhibitions he participated in, left a deep emotional impact. The artist continues his works in his own studio in Diyarbakır, the city where he lives. Perspective on Art: The artist's understanding of art is based on a unique form of color and expression, nourished by a strong synthesis of expressionism and symbolism. With this approach, he both expresses feelings and thoughts in depth in his works, and invites the viewer to go beyond the visible image, to discover the stories and symbolic meanings behind the painting. In his works, the expressive power of colors and the depth created by contrasts add layers of meaning that reveal both the visible story and the emotional reality that lies deep within. He expresses his art by transferring the devastating effects of war and the tragic stories of children who are victims of war onto canvases; he aims to make the traumas, uncertainties and crumbs of hope they experience visible with every line and brushstroke in his works, and to make the screams of the children who remain silent heard. Believing in the transformative power of art, he sees his works as a call for resistance and solidarity against war, a tool that makes the viewer sensitive to war and emphasizes the importance of peace. In this process, each painting becomes a reflection in the eyes of the viewer, and each story becomes a voice that touches their hearts. As a result, the essence of his art is to ignite a light of hope for humanity and strengthen the dream of a more just and peaceful world; therefore, each of his works exists as both a protest and a prayer, a lament and a symbol of resistance.
