Who is Mehmet Genç? (1951 – Ödemiş) He was born in 1951 in Ödemiş. He started primary school in 1956. He studied at Ağabeyli, Maraş Karakoyunlu, Ceyhan Dumlupınar primary schools. I started secondary school in 1960. He studied at Ceyhan, Genç and Bingöl secondary schools. He started high school at Bingöl High School in 1964. He finished at Ödemiş High School in 1969. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education at a total of eight schools. He worked as a substitute teacher for one year in 1969. He studied at İzmir Faculty of Economics for one year in 1970. He studied at Ankara Gazi Education Institute (GEE) Department of Painting between 1971-74. He completed his undergraduate degree at Anadolu University in 1995. He started working as an art teacher at Yozgat İstiklal Middle School in 1974. He completed his military service in İzmir and Hatay Dörtyol in 1975-76. In 1977, he was appointed as an art teacher to Çankırı Atatürk Middle School. In 1978, he started working as an art teacher at Ödemiş High School. In 1980, he was assigned to Urla Bademler Middle School due to the September 12 intervention. He served for four years. In 1984, he returned to Ödemiş High School as an art teacher. In 1990, he started teaching art at İzmir Semla Yiğitalp High School. In the meantime, he worked part-time at Çamlaraltı College and İzmir American College. In 2000, I retired voluntarily and established my own studio.
