Who is Ömer Çam? (1960-İstanbul) He was born in Istanbul in 1960. He graduated from the Painting Department of 9 Eylül University Buca Faculty of Education in 1983, and started teaching painting the same year. After working in various parts of Anatolia, he was assigned to İzmir in 2000. He retired in 2018. The artist, who lives in İzmir, continues his art life in his own studio. His paintings are in important national and international collections. The artist, who has continued his artistic work since his university years, has participated in countless personal and group exhibitions, international workshops and symposiums to this day. Art Perspective; In his works, it is possible to see traces of an understanding based on figurative and color as well as expressionist, spotty attitudes. The harmony of contrasts such as Good-Bad, Beautiful-Ugly, Calm-Dynamic sometimes tries to reflect the contradictions in the world with colors and sometimes with pictorial images. The artist likes to use different techniques together. He avoids stereotyped, repetitive works and always aims to pursue the new.
