Hosting the exhibitions of the two painters, the painting exhibitions “Solo Autumn” by Leyla Afacan Kodaman and “Ballerinas” by Zeki Çetinkaya were presented to the appreciation of art lovers at the Fırça Art Gallery.
The exhibition opening on November 22 was attended by Fırça Art Gallery Director Semra Sancak, well-known names from the world of culture and art, and many art lovers. The exhibition will be open to visitors in the A and B Halls of the gallery between November 22 and December 10.
Making statements to the Ankara Net Haber internet news site about his exhibition “Ballerinas”, Zeki Çetinkaya said, “I know that the aesthetics of Ballet Art are very elegant. It has been in my life for years. It was destined for this year.”
Çetinkaya, who stated that art is a unique set of emotions that has been searching for beauty, ideal and perfection in every period since the beginning of human history, and that the questions of what is the most beautiful, how is the most ideal always occupy minds, said, “Art has always maintained its magnificent place in thousands of years of human history, and has always been a positive science that has been sought and questioned. Within its own dynamics, every society has glorified the excitement of previous knowledge and experience with art. This never-decreasing behavior has reached every corner of the world for centuries. Art is a universal happiness and the art of painting has also taken its place in this happiness with pleasure, affecting large masses with its fascinating charm. I have adopted the principle of examining the art of painting in detail, and I have been living the magnificent understanding I acquired from my teacher Neşet Günal, the unique ideal teachings that have still survived to this day, with an excitement that never diminishes in my heart and soul for years. The human being is at the center of art, so we should know him well, and analyze his physical and spiritual structure well. I started to paint the art of ballet, which integrates human beauty, elegance with aesthetics, and ballerinas with this understanding. I wish art lovers a pleasant viewing.”
Leyla Afacan Kodaman, who stated that there are 27 works in the exhibition, mostly based on nature but also figurative works, made statements to the Ankara Net Haber internet news site. “My artistic adventure, which I started by reflecting the riches offered to us by the magnificent nature of Trabzon, the apple of the eye of the Black Sea, a city of culture and art with a history of four thousand years, has been continuing for many years.” Kodaman, who stated that she interprets the pictorial elements in her works with her own inner feelings and presents them to the audience with an expressive energetic understanding as a concrete indicator, said, “In my paintings, dynamic lines, contours, dense paint layers meet with the magnificent colors offered to us by the autumn palette and reach the audience from my canvases sometimes with nature interpretations and sometimes with a figurative narrative. I act with the idea of “I want art lovers to integrate their own stories with my paintings and name them themselves.”
Kodaman, who stated that the main purpose of this exhibition is to bring together the cultural texture and geography of the city where he was born and raised with the images of different geographies he visited and examined and striking colors and to bring them together with the audience through natural landscapes, and to highlight the plan effect he created by playing freely with colors with the power of line, said, “With a colorist and spotist narrative, I wanted to emphasize the boats dancing to the tunes of the cello among the rough waves of the Black Sea and the quiet lives among the cypresses and poplars soaring into the sky. As a member of the society I live in, I feed on the characteristics of the era I live in, its cultural texture and geography, and I produce by reading cities, villages, people and nature. My aim is to free myself from the obligation to paint nature as it appears and present it to the audience with a different perspective. In addition, I am curious; I follow my surroundings, nature, events and people and use them to create new things in my paintings. Enjoyable viewing to all art lovers.”
