Who is Cemal Toy?
Painter Cemal Toy, who has held 17 group exhibitions and 11 personal exhibitions at home and abroad, reflecting the cultural texture of Istanbul from past to present in his works with a traditional and modern style, was born in Kütahya in 1969. He graduated from Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting in 1991. Cemal Toy participated in many group and personal exhibitions at home and abroad.
In his paintings, a whole human adventure; It has continued to trace the reality indicated by the symbols of cultures that have disappeared or are about to disappear.
He reflects the cultural texture of Istanbul from past to present in his paintings in a traditional and modern style.
Cemal Toy stated that he always imagined himself painting in his childhood and said, "When I was young, I used to do all my friends' painting homework when I was staying at boarding schools. After graduating from Mimar Sinan (Fine Arts) University, I attended workshops at the İlhami Atalay Art Gallery from the first years of my student life and became a professional professional." "My art adventure began." says. Toy describes his later artistic adventure as follows:
"Later, I opened my own workshop near Little Hagia Sophia. I have been here for nearly 24 years. Sultanahmet is the showcase of the world, a showcase in a geography where the most rare and beautiful works are located. Having a workshop here is a great advantage for an artist." "Because we have the opportunity to open up to the world and we work like a cultural ambassador. We are literally trying to represent the images that are about to disappear in our country and our civilization with our unique works of art. This is all our effort and our goal."
