As part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of Rahmi M. Koç Museum, the 'Horse Power' exhibition, which examines the chronological change of passenger vehicles, met with art lovers at Rahmi M. Koç Museum.

The exhibition aims to trace the traces of horses in art and engineering from the 2nd century BC to the present day and to explore the transformation of the automobile in industrial history with the concept of 'horse power'.

The exhibition, which opened with the theme of 'A magnificent historical journey where horses meet automobiles and art meet engineering', presents horse figures, automobiles, paintings, toys and various objects to the audience.

The exhibition welcomes art lovers with its sections titled 'Horse Figures from Rahmi M. Koç Collection' and 'Automobile Stories from Rahmi M. Koç Museum'.

Making statements about the exhibition, Serra Kanyak, the curator of the Horse Figures section from the Rahmi M. Koç Collection, stated that they prepare large exhibitions every 10 years and said, "For the 30th year, we said, let's choose a subject from Rahmi Bey's special area of interest. Rahmi Bey said, 'Let's choose the horse as a theme that combines horses and cars, the industrial and pre-industrial period. Let's prepare such an exhibition.' It is a very broad subject. I took on the section about horses. We already had quite a few objects related to horses in Rahmi Bey's collection. We evaluated them and brought them together." Kanyak also stated that the part about the automobile was being prepared and gave the following information:

"Since the family has a passion and love for horses from the past, our job was not very difficult. Most of them were pieces from our own collection. In addition, we received support from many institutions such as the Jockey Club of Turkey, Istanbul Library, Çelik Gülersoy Foundation, and İnönü Foundation. We brought together the accessories and clothes used while riding horses in both art and daily life. That's why it became a rich collection."

The exhibition can be visited until June 10, 2025.
