Who is Münevver Tolunay

Born in Balıkesir in 1971, the artist graduated from Istanbul University ITF Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in 1993 after completing her high school education in Izmir. However, her real passion was painting.

Her interest in painting, which started at a young age, became stronger with rapido drawings in 1994. She enriched her works with color works as well as black and white in the drawings she made with ink pens. She aimed to make you feel the coolness and freshness of nature and to make you experience the details and three dimensions in architectural works.

Her first successes in the field of art came during her school years. She was awarded first and third place, honorable mention and fifth place in Türkiye in competitions held in Balıkesir, İzmir and throughout Türkiye. In recent years, she continues to present her works to art lovers at fairs and exhibitions in various provinces of the country, as well as exhibitions held in New York, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Clermond-Ferrand.

The artist’s works are like a window that visualizes her feelings and thoughts. Her art is a reflection that enriches the inner world and invites viewers to the world of imagination. The artist evokes emotions and affects the audience with each stroke of the pen.
