Who is Nihat Kahraman?
(1951-Denizli) He was born in Denizli in 1951. He graduated from the Painting Department of Ankara Gazi Education Institute in 1972.
He was sent to France with a scholarship from the Ministry of National Education between 1972-1976. He received art education at the artistic level, specializing in mural painting, fresco and mosaic at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) in Paris. He worked for two years in the Ministry of National Education Culture Branch for Turkey. He worked as a faculty member at the Painting Department of Ankara Gazi Education Institute Higher Teachers School between 1978-1981. He worked as a faculty member at the Painting Department of Ankara Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Mural Painting between 1992-2014. In the field of painting, the artist is in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Bolu State Painting and Sculpture Museums, Hacettepe and Erzurum Atatürk University Museums, Ziraat Bank, Halkbank, İş Bank, Akbank Collections, İbn-Sina Hospital Collection, 85 personal painting exhibitions were opened and kept, he participated in more than 200 mixed exhibitions. He made wall painting applications (Painted houses) in Ankara Batıkent.
He worked as a decorator at Ankara State Opera and Ballet between 1985-2012. According to the artist, who has been working as the chief decorator at State Opera and Ballet since 2012, the paintings are the synchronic and visual flaws of the perception of a space between beings and nothingness and the new and multidimensional life-relationship searches of the beings inside. The artist has been operating in his workshop in Ankara since 2016.
