The "55th Year in Art" exhibition, which hosts the works of painter Numan Arslan, opened at the Medya Art Gallery. Speaking to 24 Saat Newspaper at the opening ceremony, Arslan explained his works and the details of the exhibition.
The works reflecting the 55-year artistic adventure of painter Numan Arslan were presented to art lovers at the Medya Art Gallery. The opening ceremony of the "55th Year in Art" exhibition was held with intense participation.
The warm tones of autumn drew attention in the exhibition, which hosts over 60 paintings by Master Artist Numan Arslan. The paintings that Arslan painted inspired by the color palette of autumn were watched with interest by art lovers.
The works, which mostly feature the sky, trees and nature landscapes, reflect the theme of “loneliness”, while the marbled patterns he added to his paintings revealed Arslan’s originality.
“I describe the chaos of colors and lonely trees”
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Arslan stated that although he mostly draws lonely trees, he also takes forests as his subject. Referring to the poet Nazım Hikmet’s words, “Living is like a tree, alone and free, and like a forest, fraternally,” the painter said, “There are nature, trees and loneliness in my paintings. Sometimes I paint single trees and sunsets, sometimes forests… I describe the chaos of colors and lonely trees.”
The painter, who mentioned that he has recently increased the marbled patterns he places on the skyscapes in his paintings, emphasized that he draws more enthusiastic paintings day by day. Arslan, who produces original works with acrylic paint, said, “I created such a style with acrylic paints. It resembles a marbled pattern from a distance, but it is not a marbled pattern. “In the early days, I drew simpler paintings, but recently I started to draw more colorful and enthusiastic works,” he said.
The exhibition, where the artist’s 65 paintings of different sizes are presented to the audience, will be open to visitors at the Medya Sanat Gallery until Wednesday, November 13.
