Kepez Municipality introduced the works of painter Cemalettin Timur, who transferred prehistoric rock paintings to canvas with his own interpretation, to art lovers at DokumaPark Modern Arts Gallery.
Painter Cemalettin Timur's exhibition called 'Petrogliph' (carving-scraping on rock), which is called rock art, was presented to art lovers at DokumaPark Modern Arts Gallery. The opening of the exhibition hosted by Kepez Municipality was attended by artist friends of Painter Timur and art lovers.
Kepez Municipality Culture and Social Affairs Director Mustafa Özay also said in his speech at the opening that they, as a municipality, attach importance to culture, art and artists. Stating that they will continue to bring together the district residents with cultural and artistic activities, Özay conveyed his greetings, stating that Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz could not attend the opening due to a previously planned meeting. Painter Timur also said that he reflected the prehistoric rock paintings on canvas by remaining faithful to the original form of the petroglyph and adding his own interpretation. Timur also presented Mayor Mesut Kocagöz with an oil painting from the exhibition.
Antalya Fine Arts Association President Ertuğrul Hepgüzel also presented a plaque to Cemalettin Timur in memory of the exhibition. Following the speeches, participants examined the works under the guidance of the artist. 78 works, the product of Painter Cemalettin Timur's 25-year work, are exhibited at DokumaPark Modern Arts Gallery. Art lovers can visit the paintings titled 'Petrogliph', which have received awards from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other institutions and are the only ones in Turkey, until September 15.
