Who is Erdem Koç? (2000-Erzincan)
He was born in Erzincan in 2000. He graduated from Erzincan Anatolian Fine Arts High School in 2019. He completed his undergraduate education at Gazi University, Faculty of Education, Department of Painting Education in 2023.
In his works, he aims to reveal the faces lost in the crowds of the city and the emotions hidden behind these faces through colors and forms.
He continues his art works in Ankara.
Art Perspective;
In my works, I aim to reveal the faces lost in the crowds of the city and the emotions hidden behind these faces through colors and forms.
I redefine the faces that are blurred, forgotten or unnoticed in the crowds through colors, forms and textures. Each figure reflects not only an individual, but also the story that the individual carries, their feelings and perhaps their inner conflicts that have never been expressed.
The intensity of my use of color is an effort to reveal the emotional layers behind the faces. By using abstract and figurative elements together, I question the interaction between the inner world of a person and the surrounding space. Sometimes a silhouette, sometimes an obscure face or an emotion hidden from the eyes invites the viewer to take them on their own inner journey.
These faces, which seem familiar but actually feel distant, represent the individuality and search for identity that disappears in the rhythm of a city.
