Who is Gülay Yuksel? (1951-) She was born in Istanbul in 1951. She graduated from Gazi Education Institute Painting and Crafts Department in 1973 and completed her undergraduate studies at Eskişehir Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts. The artist, who lived in Germany for three years, is seen to have examined various museums and galleries in Europe. She did an internship at a dormitory in Neuwid, Germany, providing training in painting and modeling to visually impaired people. Upon her return home, she gave lectures on the same subject at Gazi University Special Education Department. She worked as a lecturer at METU Fine Arts Department for eight years. In the same process, the METU Art Festival was also created. The artist, who was entitled to participate in the State Painting and Sculpture Exhibition during her student years, opened 63 personal exhibitions, 5 of which were in Germany, one in New York and one in London. She organizes group exhibitions in many countries and abroad. She participated in the Tescani International Camp 2000 Organization as a guest of the Romania program. He was invited 3 times to the state art colony held in Strumisa (Macedonia) and 7 of her works were included in the state art archive. Two of her works were donated to the George Enescu (Romania) Museum, the artist's Izmir Painting and Sculpture Museum, Eskisehir Anadolu University, Gazi University, Eskisehir Tepebaşı Municipality, Çorum Municipality art museums, METU, T.R. There are 39 works in the collection of the Ministry of Culture, T:C Ministry of Foreign Affairs Art Collection, TRT institution, and products in the USA, Romania, Canada, Germany, France, Bulgaria, Bulgaria and many other banks and private collections. The artist, who continues his works in her workshop in Istanbul, is a member of BRHD (United Painters and Sculptors Association), UPSD (International Plastic Artists Association) and GORSED.
