Who is Güler Gök? (1975 – İskilip) After graduating from İskilip High School, Güler Gök graduated from Selçuk University, Faculty of Education, Department of Art Education on 06.06.1997. In 2023, she completed the Master’s Degree program in the Department of Art Education, Department of OMU, Faculty of Fine Arts. Güler Gök, who works as a Visual Arts teacher, speaks English at an intermediate level. She is a member of BRHD, GESAM, Usart and Saküder. She learned to make styrofoam printing from Hughette Eyüpoğlu. She took lessons at the workshops of İlham Enveroğlu, Orhan Cebrailoğlu and Sena Sengir. She opened five solo exhibitions and participated in many national and international group exhibitions. She opened her personal painting exhibition titled ‘Çemberimde Gül Oya’ on March 6, 2019 with a women theme, and her second personal exhibition on October 15, 2021 under the name of “the color of special hearts” to raise awareness in society for students with disabilities. Recently, she has been working on the Mounds since she is an artist from Çorum. In her fifth personal exhibition, ‘A Balam in Mounds’, she saw the Mounds as if in her daughter’s eyes. She presented her exhibition to her daughter who graduated from the faculty of dentistry in 2024. She carried out many projects in the field of Art and Art Education and worked as a curator. She was the coordinator of the 37th International Çorum Art Workshop. In order to draw attention to the drying up of the Sakarya River, she participated in the Çifteler Municipality ‘Sakarbaşı Workshop’ and left two of her works to the Çifteler Municipality. She curated the İskilip Municipality “Hughette Eyüboğlu One Color One Trace” art workshop. Her works are in various museums. She took part in national and international mixed exhibitions. Her artistic views and works were guests of the July 2020 issue of Sanatım magazine. She took place in Bünyamin Balamir’s book ‘From Emotion to Thought’ in 2022. She works as a woman because of the value Atatürk gave to Turkish women. Her belief in women being held in high esteem pushed her to work as a woman. For this reason, he puts crowns on the heads of his women. The artist, who interprets miniature art in a contemporary way, creates the basis of his works from styrofoam prints. Color is his indispensable. The harmony of contrasting colors and textures in his works tell the innocence and enthusiasm of a child who cannot fit into his inner world. Since he worked in primary schools for many years, he is a fan of children’s careless color strokes. In his works consisting of watercolor, acrylic paint and printing techniques, it is as if he sees his daughter and himself. The artist, who loves to be inspired by the mysterious air coming from the depths of archaeological artifacts, created a series of paintings about Cybele in Çatalhöyük and the Hittite queen Pudehepa. If you wore daisy crowns in your hair as a child, you can find yourself in the sultans of the fairyland he created.
