    • Who is Gülhan Özer Diyarbekirli? (1975-Adana) She was born in Adana in 1975 and completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Adana. Coming from an artist family, Diyarbekirli devoted herself to painting at an age when she did not even know how to read or write. With the encouragement and guidance of her brother, watercolor artist Burhan Özer, she produced works in many disciplines. She continued her education at Burhan Özer Painting Studio during her high school years and carried this master-apprentice relationship to the present day. The artist, who graduated from Hacettepe French Language Teaching, has exhibited her works in 4 solo and many mixed exhibitions and has taken its place in many personal and corporate collections. She was a jury member in the watercolor painting competition of the Japanese company “Holbein” and her art articles were published on the portal called “Güncel Kadın”. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Art-İst Watercolor Association. Art Perspective; Art is not only an aesthetic tool but also a tool that carries deep meanings and messages. Art should not only touch the eye but also the soul. It should make emotions tangible and visible. In the artist's works, fantastic and mythological elements are presented to the viewer's interpretation through the female figure with multi-layered color and emotional intensity, and at the same time, it invites the viewer into a fairy-tale world. The female figure is a constant theme in his works. The woman is an important symbol that carries both mythological and emotional, psychological and aesthetic meanings related to humans. In his paintings, the figure is not a figure, animals are not just animals. He has a quest to understand the universe, existence, death and beyond. These figures are the echo of the common feelings of humanity. He describes humans as divine and worldly beings through the female figure in a unique lyrical style, sometimes with various symbols. The surreal elements used constantly change places on the thin line between consciousness and subconsciousness. While aiming to establish a balance between abstract and figurative elements, he uses light as a metaphor for existence. The continuous dance of light and shadow, brightness and darkness creates emotional tension. Colors are like silent screams of the soul. The traces left by the brush strokes on the surface are sometimes violent, sometimes spreading like a calm breath, while the dynamism it creates is like an emotional map presented to the viewer. His works are almost a call to discovery for a person's journey to himself, beyond plastic arts. Art is an effort to leave a mark. The artist also aims to leave behind a kind of visual diary by making the movements in his soul visible over time. He believes that he also signs immortality while leaving a piece of his soul in each of his paintings. His art consists of a blending of emotions and images. He questions existence in his paintings, brings emotions to the surface, and invites the viewer to a journey within himself. According to him, art is an effort to make the unseen felt rather than the seen.
