Who is Nazmiye Ünal? (1959-Ankara) Born in Ankara in 1959, Nazmiye Ünal completed her primary, secondary, high school and university education in Ankara. She graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Vocational Education, Department of Child Development and Education in 1989. Then, she started working at Gazi University, Faculty of Vocational Education. Her interest in painting began during her thesis on children's books. As someone who believes in the creative power of art, she has taken oil painting, tile and ceramic works together with her working life. After her retirement, she focused on painting and improved herself by taking oil painting and watercolor lessons from various teachers in various public education centers. For a while, she continued her work with watercolor artist painter Orhan Güler at GaleriM Art Gallery. During these processes, she actively participated in painting exhibitions and took a place in art. Today, she continues her work in her own art studio. She actively continues her work with two art galleries and various online auctions based in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Art Perspective; To leave a person, a society, a country without art is to cut off the water of life. The development of society and the individual is directly proportional to the development of art and the value given to it. As Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said, a nation without art has lost one of its lifebloods, and she continues her work as someone who has completely adopted the saying. Nazmiye Ünal, who looks at life with the philosophy that a nation's artistic talent is measured by the value it gives to fine art, uses art as a tool that is an expression of her feelings, thoughts and imagination. While expressing her inner world through her art, she often does this by taking nature and people as her subject. The artist, who has also produced works in tile art, has successfully synthesized the two arts and produced original works by being influenced by tile motifs in some of her watercolor works.
