  Who is Saffet Aykanat? (1959-Ankara) She was born in 1959 in the Güdül district of Ankara. She graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Business Administration. She started her painting studies in 1990 at the Art Production Workshop and received art training from Kayıhan Keskinok for three years, then continued her studies with various academics. After retiring from a public bank in 1998, she intensified her studies at the Batıkent Artists Association with Cengiz Savaş. During the time she took lessons from both Kayıhan Keskinok and Cengiz Savaş, she worked on her patterns from live models. During this period, the artist, who mostly used houses as the theme in landscapes and hollyhocks in still lifes, was deemed worthy of exhibition in the 6th Şefik Bursalı Painting Competition (2006). The artist was impressed by the elegant and colorful flowers of hollyhocks and their ability to maintain their vitality in nature under all conditions, and tried to reflect these characteristics, which he identified with the determination and grace of women, in his hollyhock and figurative paintings. The artist, who uses the oil painting technique, creates his paintings with a figurative and impressionistic approach, giving importance to stains and color harmony. The artist, whose works are in important private collections, has opened 10 personal exhibitions and participated in many mixed and group exhibitions. He currently continues his work in his own studio in Ankara.
