The 48 stone prints of the famous artist Prof. Dr. Basri Erdem met with students at the Kocaeli University Anıtpark Campus.
The paintings of Prof. Dr. Basri Erdem, one of Turkey's leading stone print artists, were introduced to Kocaeli University students. The 48 works of the famous artist, who has approximately 120 stone prints, began to be exhibited at the Kocaeli University Anıt Park Campus Art Gallery as of April 9th. The opening program of the exhibition, which will end on April 10th, was held with the participation of the owner of the works, Prof. Dr. Basri Erdem. The works were examined closely at the opening, which was attended by students and academics. The opening, where refreshments were served to the participants, also hosted Basri Erdem's speech.
ART IS ABOVE ALL POLITICAL ATTITUDE.
Prof. Dr. In his speech, Basri Erdem said, “These works have been touring Anatolia for 4 years. We are talking about a collection of nearly 120 works, students are eager to see these works, our exhibition is attracting attention. These works are works produced using the lithographic method. We have served at Marmara University for 37 years. We have been retired for 3 years. There are only 6-7 people in our country who know the lithographic technique. Kocaeli University seems to be at a good point in lithographic matters. Art is above all political attitudes. I think art courses should be offered as electives in schools, look, when a manager has an artistic side, very different works can emerge.”
