Within the scope of the 'Art Workshop' held for the second time this year in Yozgat's Sorgun district, painters from different regions of the country presented their works that they made for a week to art lovers under the name of 'Painting and Mosaic' exhibition.
Ergin Gül, a businessman residing in Sorgun district of Yozgat and the President of Sorgun Belediyespor Club, organized the Art Workshop, organized by his wife Sevil Gül, at the summer house near the village of Dışli. Artists from different parts of the country produced works in the area where they were located for a week and tried to get to know the city by making trips. During the workshop, created by painter Hasan Mutlu, works prepared by 16 painters and a mosaic artist were presented to art lovers.
"I tried to reflect the houses and villages of the steppe in my works."
Mosaic artist Gamze Er, who exhibited her works at the Municipality Cultural Center, said, "I have been dealing with mosaics for 25 years. I try to study the works of the region I visit in my works. This is the Steppe. Frankly, I felt like a paradise in the middle of the Steppe. I tried to reflect the houses and villages of the Steppe in my works. This color is 'Steppe'." "For me, the lively, happy people of Turkey, the enlightened people, the enlightened faces, I tried to capture such a form," he said.
"Our mission is to spread art, to spread fine arts, to develop them and to attract new people."
Painter Hasan Mutlu, the creator of the workshop, stated that their mission is to spread and develop fine arts and to attract new people and said:
"I was born and raised in Sorgun. After retiring from the Ministry of Culture, I continue my work in my workshop in Istanbul. I, together with pharmacists Ergin and Sevil Gül, founded an art colony, which has examples in many countries around the world and is limited in number in some cities in Turkey, under their sponsorship. We have hosted Turkey's most important artists in Sorgun for the second time. About 16 of our artists have come and gone so far. They are all among the best in their field. They came and liked our district and city very much. I took my friends to Başçavuşoğlu Mosque, which is considered the beginning of plastic arts, they were very pleased, they found it very beautiful, they found it very different. As a result, we worked for six days and hosted friends who painted two, three or four paintings of Sorgun. They loved it very much. I think we hosted it well, I think so, and we are currently preparing the exhibition. We are planning to realize this exhibition for the second time this year, and for the third, fourth, and fifth exhibitions next year, as much as we can and as much as my family can afford. Our mission is to spread art, to spread and develop fine arts, and to attract new people. I am sure that 15-16 friends here will introduce Sorgun and Yozgat to the whole of Turkey as cultural ambassadors. "I think we did something very special, and I hope we will continue to do so."
