A painting exhibition was opened in the İskilip district of Çorum within the scope of the "Hughette Eyüboğlu, One Color One Trace Art Workshop".
Çorum Governor Ali Çalgan thanked the artists who came to the district for the workshop in his speech at the opening ceremony of the exhibition held in Temenne Park.
Stating that Atatürk had many pithy words about art and artists, Çalgan said, "Atatürk said, 'A nation without art has one of its lifebloods broken.' We definitely need material cultural assets. We will build parks, buildings, roads, but we become urbanites with high-level cultural events that appeal to our emotions and inner world, which we call spiritual culture, such as art, painting, conferences, literature, and such events."
Çalgan, who stated that such events were organized in Çorum, said, "We are very happy that such an event is held on the scale of İskilip, the size of İskilip. You are here because you believe in this. I value your participation in this event and being with us very much. I congratulate all our artist friends. I congratulate our local administrators for organizing such an artistic workshop in this place of this size."
İskilip Mayor İsmail Çizikci also thanked the artists who drew the historical and cultural texture of the district and contributed it to history.
After the speeches, certificates of participation were presented to the artists.
After the opening ceremony, Governor Çalgan, Çorum Mayor Halil İbrahim Aşgın, İskilip District Governor Ramazan Polat, İskilip Mayor Çizikci visited the exhibition and received information from the painters about their works.
