Painter Ümit Kara opened a painting exhibition at the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO) Art Gallery. The exhibition, which includes 28 works of the artist with nature themes, can be visited until April 19.

MTSO Art Gallery is hosting the 2nd personal painting exhibition of painter and woodcarver Ümit Kara in Mersin. The exhibition, which includes 28 works prepared with oil painting technique, addresses vibrant colors through the theme of nature. The artist, who opened the exhibition with the aim of contributing to Mersin's art world, offers his knowledge to art lovers by combining his identity as an educator with art after working as an educator for many years.

"I wanted to contribute to the art community of Mersin"
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, painter Kara said that he saw Mersin as the cradle of art and that he wanted to both make a nostalgic journey for himself and contribute to the art community of Mersin by opening an exhibition in such a city. Kara, who stated that he was conducting studies on the application of Seljuk period woodwork to modern materials, stated that he both conducted research and produced works in this field. Pointing out that he developed a contemporary perspective while adhering to the cultural heritage, Kara noted that he had opened 38 paintings and 32 wood exhibitions to date and participated in individual fairs and group exhibitions. The artist also noted that his paintings and works were in private collections in Turkey and abroad.

It was announced that the exhibition opened at the MTSO Art Gallery could be visited until April 19.
