Who is Ümran Özbalcı Aria? (1962 –İzmir)

The artist was born in Izmir in 1962, completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Izmir, completed his undergraduate education in Izmir Dokuz Eylül University Painting Department in 1985, completed his master’s degree in Istanbul Marmara University, Atatürk Faculty of Education, Institute of Social Sciences Painting Department in 1992, completed his Proficiency in Art (PhD) education in Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Painting Department in 1999, taught Painting and Art History at the Ministry of National Education for many years, worked in various different universities, worked as Vice President of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Head of the Department of Graphic Design department and is a member of the International Plastic Arts Association and Iledak.

Artistic research and study (Holland-Spaın-France,Belgıum,Italy).Her artcles has been published in art magazines.Published books in 17th century Dutch Painting Portrait, Carravagio, Visual Narratives and others … The artist works as a Faculty member İstanbul Halic University,Faculty of Fıne Arts.

Artistic Perspective:

They reflect a phenomenon that fascinates my paintings without any calculations, and that creates itself despite everything that has a fiction and form in itself. We live in an era of post.Hegel points out that the familiar unknowns in the criticism of everyday life are not easy to understand the reality that surrounds us.

Artists, philosophers' teachings, an event or people from history, their works, philosophies of life, long researches, countries and museums I visited, books I read, a showcase, an article in a magazine page. An advertisement poster has affected my work, technique and style for years. This knowledge is reflected in my works as abstract or concrete form and form, by determining what I will do and how and in what style.

In my works, I use different digital programmes together and produce content with reference to art historical works. As an artist, while I reveal the traces of my own interest, observation and original subject, form, line and colour understanding in my paintings, I believe that my works also carry clues about the creative identity of art.
